Your item must be in perfect condition
It must be clean, with no tears, holes, or stains.
Your item must not have been altered or tailored
All original components, such as buttons, belts, or other accessories, must be intact.
We only accept Maje items
The brand label and inner care/composition tags must be present.
We do not accept items from collections prior to 2019.
We do not accept items from the current season.

Where can I find a store near me to sell my items?
Our in-store second hand service is currently only available in France.
Please note that some of our stores are not eligible for the trade-in service yet. We invite you to visit our participating stores page to find the locations offering this service.
If there isn’t a participating store near you, you can still complete your trade-in online.
How will I receive the payment for my trade-ins, and do I have to wait for my item to be sold before receiving my credit?
Once your items have been checked and approved by our Quality Experts, you will receive your payment in the form of credit, available in your member area under the “My Credits” section. You can then generate a gift card to use:
- in-store (not available in the Netherlands)
- on maje.com
- on secondemain.maje.com
What are the acceptance criteria, and do you return items that are considered to be in poor condition?
We do not accept items purchased before the Fall/Winter 2019 collection. We also do not accept items from the current season.
- Your items must be clean, in perfect condition (with functioning zippers, seams, and elastics), and free from holes, tears, stains, or odors.
- They must not have been altered, and no buttons or embellishments should be missing.
- All items must include the brand label as well as the internal composition and care labels.
- All products must be legally owned by the person submitting them for trade-in.
We accept three levels of condition:
- New condition: the item still has all its original tags. It has never been worn or washed.
- Excellent condition: the item is like new but no longer has its sales tag. It has been worn very lightly and shows no flaws. It has not been washed more than three times.
- Very good condition: the item has been worn occasionally and shows only minor signs of wear, invisible from 30 cm away.
We do not accept any other condition — items that are damaged, worn out, stained, torn, misshapen, dirty, or missing internal labels will not be accepted.
In accordance with our General Terms and Conditions of Sale, non-compliant items will be refused and will not be returned.
However, rest assured: these pieces will be given a second life through donations to charities or upcycling programs.
Are the sent items reconditioned?
Upon receipt of your items, our experts will authenticate them and check their condition.
Each item is returned to its saleable condition and re-labelled. It is cleaned and/or ironed using environmentally-friendly processes.
