Extending the lifespan of our clothes involves conscious and thoughtful choices. Current standards need to be reconsidered, adopting new rules of the game to create a more responsible fashion together.

How does the Maje second hand trade-in service work?

Gather the Maje items you no longer wear.

Get the best trade-in offer in a few clicks.

Only pieces in very good condition and meeting the trade-in criteria will be accepted.

Send us your items by post within 15 days using the prepaid label received by email.

After a period of 2 weeks, if your items meet the trade-in conditions, you will receive your voucher valid for use either : on our Second Hand website, on Maje.com,  in-store (France only) or on our Rental website (France only).

The service is limited to individuals aged 18 and over residing in Metropolitan France (including Corsica), Belgium, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands.

All items must legally belong to the person benefiting from the trade-in offer.

Only items that meet our trade-in conditions will be accepted.

Your item must be in perfect working condition: intact zippers, seams, and elastics without defects, no missing pieces (buttons, decorations), no holes or tears.

Your item must be clean and without stains or odors.

Non-compliant items will not be eligible for a voucher and will not be returned to you. They will be given a second life through donations to an association or through recycling programs.

Credit for trade-in items will be provided in the form of vouchers only.

Which items are eligible for a trade-in offer?​

We do not accept items purchased before 2017.

We accept all product categories except shoes, small accessories (jewellery, belts, knitwear, small leather goods), swimwear, underwear, and fur for ethical reasons.

What happens if my item is deemed non-compliant?

In accordance with our terms and conditions, we do not return items that, during inspection by our experts, do not meet our trade-in conditions.

Rest assured: rejected items are still given a second life through donations to an association or through recycling programs.

How do I assess the condition of my item?​

New condition: item never worn, with or without original outer tags but still has inner tags

Excellent condition: almost new, very lightly worn, without outer tags but with inner tags, no signs of wear or visible defects

Very good condition: worn a few times, with inner tags, no major signs of wear (pulled threads, stains, missing buttons or sequins, pilling...)

We do not accept items that have been altered, modified, worn out, damaged, stained, torn, deformed, faded, dirty, without composition tag, or with missing decorations or buttons.

How is the value of my item calculated?​

We would like to remind you that credit for trade-in items will only be provided in the form of vouchers.

The trade-in value takes into account various criteria such as the year of the purchase and the condition of the item.

This value may be adjusted if necessary by our Quality department. Items that do not match the provided description will see a decrease in the announced trade-in value.

Non-compliant items will not be returned. They will be given a second life through donations to an association or through recycling programs.

Maje reserves the right to set the resale price of the item in order to compensate for costs related to authentication, cleaning and listing of the item.

Are Claudie Pierlot and Sandro items accepted on the website ?

Sandro, Claudie Pierlot, and Fursac clothing are not accepted on the Maje Second Hand website.

Print and affix the prepaid label received by email. The shipping costs for your items are free.

Drop off your package at a Chronopost pick-up point.

Upon receiving your package, our teams will inspect the condition of your items. If our trade-in conditions are met, you will be notified by email within 15 days.

What are the shipping procedures for my items?

The shipping costs for your items are free.

Your package will only be collected by Chronopost in France (including Corsica), Belgium, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands.

If you have requested a trade-in and dropped off your package at a Chronopost pick-up point, you can track the status of your package by clicking here.

Can I send my package from a country other than France?

Currently, you can only send your package from the following countries: France, Belgium, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands.

The voucher type is selected when you request your trade-in offer. Please note, once you have chosen your voucher type, you cannot change it.

Once your items have been verified, you will receive the chosen voucher by email within 2 weeks (please check your spam folder). Your voucher will be valid for 12 months.

The 4 types of vouchers we offer are as follows:

Online, on Maje.com
Your vouchers can be combined with ongoing promotions on the Maje.com website (excluding e-outlet sales).
The vouchers must be used in a single transaction; they cannot be used for multiple transactions.
Once your basket is finalized on maje.com, please enter the voucher code provided in the confirmation email.

On the Maje Second Hand website
In line with our more responsible approach and to promote the circular economy, we offer you an additional +10% on the value of the trade-in offer proposed.

In the Maje store of your choice* (France only)
Your vouchers can be combined with each other and with ongoing promotions in-store. They can also be used for installment payments.
Once in-store, please present the email with the voucher code to one of our sales advisors to use your voucher.

Each item is checked, authenticated, and re-tagged by our Quality Service.

They are all cleaned and ironed using a responsible ozone treatment.

Tests conducted by the Virhealth laboratory on our ozone drying and disinfection cabinets demonstrate an efficacy of over 99.99% in destroying Covid-19.

What are the shipping options and costs?​

We only deliver to metropolitan France, Belgium, Germany, Spain and the Netherlands.
We deliver to your doorstep or to the pick-up point of your choice.

France and Belgium: Delivery to a collection point for 4€ or to your home for 8,90€ within 2 to 5 business days. Express delivery is also available in France for 11€.

Germany and the Netherlands: Delivery to a collection point for 5€ or to your home for 8,90€ within 2 to 5 business days.

Spain: Delivery to a collection point for 6€ or to your home for 14€ within 2 to 5 business days.

The amount is displayed when paying your order.

We deliver our second hand items in FSC certified boxes.

The FSC certification (Forest Stewardship Council®, or Forest Support Council) is an international label guaranteeing that the wood used conforms to sustainable forest management procedures.

You can also choose a reusable packaging for an additional 1€.

We have chosen to partner with Hipli, a French start-up that aims to reduce the impact of packaging.

A Hipli pouch offers 100 uses and is significantly less impactful than a cardboard box from the second use onwards!

You have 30 days from receiving your order to return an item.

Items cannot be exchanged, any returned item will be refunded.

Please note, only items with their tags still attached will be accepted for return and refund.

To initiate a return, please visit your 'My Account' area, then navigate to the 'My Orders' tab. You can then select the item(s) you wish to return by clicking on 'Manage my order' followed by 'Manage return of my items' and selecting the item(s) you want to send back. Your prepaid return label will then automatically download. Affix this label to your package and drop it off at a Chronopost pick-up point no later than 30 days from its receipt.

Can I log in with my Maje.com account on Maje Second Hand? 

No, these are two separate accounts. To sign in to the Maje Second Hand website, you must create a different account.

The same applies to Maje Rental, which is also a separate account with credentials distinct from Maje.com and Maje Second Hand.
